SmarTek's Acoustic Sensor SAS-1

This Roadside Traffic Sensor gives you per lane traffic volume, lane occupancy, and average vehicle speed. Advanced signal processing provides the capability for high resolution multilane traffic flow monitoring and shoulder activity, with no loss of "lane switchers" at the detection zone.  It provides a means to electronically position or reposition multi-lane detection zones using a laptop PC.

Finally, a passive off-road traffic sensor with low power requirements and a wireless "home-run" option which eliminates the need for conduit, cable and digging back to the control cabinet. Low power consumption supports operating entirely from solar power. SmarTek Systems has developed a highly reliable and flexible product to meet the growing need for capable and affordable traffic detection and flow measurement hardware.

The SAS-1 is quickly and easily installed, with no lane closures needed for the "side-fire" configuration. Just mount the sensor to a roadside structure, position the optional solar power panel and antenna, and after verifying the system performance for a few minutes, drive away knowing the sensor is in place to deliver data for many years.
